This piece is numbered in an edition of 10 and is available on commission. Please allow 6-8 weeks upon completion for delivery. Philippe Pallafray’s dramatic contemporary sculptures often appear to defy the laws of gravity. This imposing minimalist piece features a highly polished stainless steel ball precariously balanced between two large ‘rusty’ metal cubes. ‘Equilibre’ means ‘balance’ The sculpture appears to sit in dramatic contrast to its natural environment and yet also mirrors it back to the viewer through the reflective surface of the ball. ‘Rouille’ means rust-coloured in English. “My creations embody the duality of nature and industry.” Philippe Pallafray He is a member of the Sculptors Society of Canada. Born in France, he emigrated to Canada several years ago and currently lives in Ile d’Orléans, Québec. Pallafray's sculptures have been exhibited in Canada and the United States both as part of group and solo exhibitions. They are also part of public and private collections in Canada, France and the United States. Philippe Pallafray is represented exclusively by the Oeno Gallery.
